Liver Meridian: Anger
The Liver: The liver is a very important organ to the human body and has many functions. To name a few, it helps support metabolism, digestion, detoxification, immunity and vitamin storage.
The Meridian: The primary responsibility is to regulate the body’s Life Force Energy(the part of us that maintains life). The liver meridian also houses the soul (the part of us that leaves the body after death) and gives us a sense of purpose and consciousness.

Location: Runs from the big toe up the front of the inner leg and across the torso. Ends below the nipple.
Physical Imbalance: Stiff joints, little flexibility, impatience, inability to relax, hypertension, headache, migraine, eye problems-dry eyes, or blurred vision.
Emotional Imbalance: Anger issues, frustration, emotional disorders, irritability, rage, repression.
How To Balance
*When the liver is balanced, one’s character is easily inspired, optimistic, flexible, and diligent.
Acupressure Point/Massage *The are many pressure points in body. This is one example.
The Liver 3 pressure point is also known as ‘great rushing’ or ‘great surge’ which gives an indication of the way this point promotes a strong shift and change in the internal state of our physiology. It’s all about flow!

This point is located between the first and second toes. Run your finger upwards from the web between the toes up towards the top of the foot until your finger is stopped by bone. There is a small depression where the soft tissue ends. This acupressure point is often very sensitive so go slow on this one.
The liver 3 acupressure point is fantastic for tension, tightness, frustration, irritability, jaw pain, and menstrual issues.
Herbal Therapy/Diet: Drink alcohol in moderation, avoid toxins and take part in cleansing diets. Regarding food, think light and fresh, not heavy. Think green. Our emotions have a very significant effect on the liver. To help the liver, practice patience and forgiveness. Have compassion and try to let go of resentment. The liver is hurt by negative feelings and holding onto the past. Other foods that are good for the Liver include wild-caught fatty fish and nuts and seeds.
Some herbs that will benefit the liver qi are thyme, rosemary, and oregano. They are available in supermarket spice aisles and will elevate the flavor of any meat dish.
Meditation/Mind: Engage in new beginnings, shift gears into a new direction.
